So, I've been a photography enthusiast for quite some time now. Equipped with only a Canon's Powershot (although I have a more latest version now which enables manual settings), I merely focused on the moments. But you know, my point-and-shoot pocket camera already reached its limits. Its a bit frustrating to get a decent angle with this thing.
This is when I decide it's the time to move up. Well, for pocket cameras I've always choose Canon. I guess I'll stick with the brand. Again, I'm a newbie in this dSLR world. So I should choose the entry level ones to get me started. And the partner I choose was the Rebel T3i or here its known as the 600D.
So, I started to ask around some of the professional photographers I knew, downloaded tutorial videos and tips from the YouTube (You know, YouTube is amazing source of information try to explore it and you can find any information you need), and bought some reference books. For YouTube you might wanna type as simple as "photography" or you can add filters such as "photography tutorials" or "photography tips". Then you will be shown with enormous results some of the videos I've downloaded include a guy that runs the site www.PhotographersonUTube.com, and a photographer named Mark Wallace that made Digital Photography 1 on 1 up until 72 episodes! (at the moment when I'm writing this I only downloaded his first 7 episodes).
And for the references, I would I recommend this book
Well, of course when you buy the camera you will be provided with the manual. But this book is even better, it serves as a manual and a tutorial on how to maximize your camera (you know these "included manuals", they explained in a very dull way). And don't worry, the writer also writes for several other types of camera. Including Nikon. By the way, I ran into this book at Kinokuniya Plaza Senayan.
So, here are some of my first shots.
You might notice the kitty'sPHOTOWORKS label, well that's the mark I choose to represent my commitment of getting this photography thing deeper. If you've read my previous posts, I did not do any photoscape on this :). I used Canon's Digital Photo Professional instead, you know just to play with the curves.
Again, I still think that it's not about the gear (never was). But it's the moment that counts. And can the pictures tells you the story.
And yes, I'm just a shutterbug :)
